Burnaby is the third largest city in BC by its population surpassed only by Vancouver and Surrey.  With a population of 232,995 as of 2016.  It is situated just east of Vancouver.  It consists of thirteen urban villages and four town centres – Metrotown, Edmonds, Lougheed, and Brentwood.

The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts – is a venue for both performance and teaching in the arts.
